Of course superintendents feel that way, it is their careers and education on the line. The same reasons OBGYNs feel that homebirth is risky despite research to the opposite, and the same way that pharmasutical companies claim that unvaccinated children are causing plagues. Even the same way that political parties like to sling mud at each other.
